Museum zu Allerheiligen – Ausstellung bis 4. Februar 2018
Im Jahr 27 vor Christus wird Etrurien in die römische Verwaltung eingegliedert, und die Etrusker, Begründer der ersten Hochkultur Italiens, verschwinden im Dunkel der Geschichte. Wer mehr über dieses Volk erfahren möchte, kann vom 16. Dezember an die Etruskerausstellung im Schloss Karlsruhe besuchen. Der schnellere Weg zum höchst attraktiven Ziel führt indes nach Schaffhausen ins Museum zu Allerheiligen. Dort wurde am 22. September die Ausstellung «Etrusker. Antike Hochkultur im Schatten Roms» eröffnet. Kurator Werner Rutishauser zeigt hauptsächlich museumseigene Bestände der archäologischen Sammlung Ebnöther.
Sie werden mit 40 exzellenten Leihgaben gezielt ergänzt. Der bärtige Satyr oder Flussgott Acheloos zierte als Stirnziegel die Dachtraufe eines etruskischen Heiligtums (oben links, 5. Jh. v. Chr., Sammlung Ebnöther). Das 1895 entstandene Faksimile des Schaffhausers Enrico Wüscher-Becchi (ganz oben, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Kopenhagen) führt uns die Etrusker-Nekropole in Tarquinia vor Augen. Seit 2004 zählt sie zum Unesco-Kulturerbe.

Der Sammler Marcel Ebnöther (1920 – 2008) interessierte sich für einen Kulturvergleich zwischen der Alten und der Neuen Welt. Von den rund 6000 Objekten seiner Antikenkollektion sind über 550 in der Dauerausstellung «Frühe Hochkulturen – von Mesopotamien bis Südamerika» zu sehen.
